It was wonderful to see the range of national and international contexts in which such research is being carried out. It reconfirmed my conviction that audience research is one area in which we can build closer ties with the film industry and film exhibitors in particular.

The discipline and lateral thinking behind some of the international approaches to audience building and audience comprehension were fascinating in themselves: the potential impact they could have on our fast-changing industry makes them crucially important as we enter the digital age of exhibition.

Thanks so much for organizing this conference. It was so helpful to hear from and interact with filmmakers as well as those who research audiences. I was also impressed by the international representation among participants. Casual and compelling.

Specific audience conferences are few and far between. This is a great opportunity to share thoughts with other like-minded people.
