About EIFAC

In 2003 a small group of academics, film enthusiasts and members of the film industry who were all members of the Edinburgh Film Guild started talking about the limitations of research into film audiences. The background to this discussion was the 75th anniversary of the Film Guild in 2004/5. The outturn of this was the first Edinburgh Film Audiences conference in March 2005. Following the success of this event, the decision to hold another conference in March 2007 was taken. It continues to run every second year.

Our aim remains constant: to provide a space where film audience researchers amongst others, can come together to present completed work, discuss on-going as well as future work.

Edinburgh International Film Audiences Conference is proud to be affiliated with the Edinburgh Film Guild, the Centre for the Moving ImageĀ and Screen Academy Scotland.
